Volunteer Cheque

As per the Annual General Meeting in the Fall of 2006, the following proposal was accepted for implementation.

*******

A $ 50.00 volunteer cheques dated April 1, 2008.

Each swimmer’s family is required to volunteer for two - 2 hour shifts (4 hours/meet) at each meet held by the club during the competitive year.

In order to encourage this volunteerism, each family will be required to give post-dated cheques for $50.00/meet to the club (dated for the week immediately after the meet is scheduled) at the time of registration.

If volunteer requirements are not met during the year, volunteer cheques will be cashed.

********

Steak Night

The club will be arranging a Steak Night for this fall. Each family is expected to pay for 4 tickets. You may use them yourself of sell them to others if you wish.

Details of this event will follow.

Travel

Travel to meets/competitions and skill development camps is usually done as a club. Parents may travel with the club, space permitting. SAQ makes every effort to travel as economically as possible. Swimmers, coaches and chaperones travel together, usually by chartered bus or rented vans.

All members of a team are expected to stay together as one unit while attending meets, competitions or camps. A parent chaperone is responsible for all team members for the duration of the trip except at the pool, where the team coach assumes responsibility. If an overnight stay at a hotel is necessary, the SAQ travel coordinator will arrange accommodation and assign rooms to swimmers, coaches and chaperones.

Wardrobe

This year the wardrobe coordinator will be meeting individually with each team in October.  She will have available at that time wind suits and will be taking orders for black bathing suits, t-shirts etc.  Wind suits must be purchased. Used suits may be purchased from the club for $136 (worn 3 – 5 times), new suits can be ordered (minimum order 9) for approximately $145 plus applicable taxes.

Swimmer requirements for first practice:

Bathing suit, goggles, *nose clips, *bathing cap (* may be purchased from club through the wardrobe coordinator)

Swimmer requirements for meets/competitions

Black bathing suit, white bathing cap, team bathing suit and headpiece. Team suits will be selected at a team meeting in early fall. In addition, competitive swimmers require SAQ wind suits, they will be sold at wardrobe night.

Parent Meetings

A meeting will be schedule at the start of season with each team.
